I’m about to give up on the conventional means of finding a girlfriend. I simply can’t find someone with the qualities I’m looking for. I only attract the sort of person who I am incompatible with. I’m looking for a nonevangelical Christian girl who doesn’t drink or smoke, has never done drugs, and is a virgin. Instead, I’ve managed to attract a girl who realized she was a lesbian one week after we started dating, a girl who is probably a prep, and another who IS a prep, parties a lot, and might not be a virgin (and, for all I know, isn’t single and is leading me on). So I’m thinking of online dating, since I have had no luck finding someone compatible with me so far. (I’m 19 and in college.) But I feel like doing online dating would make me a loser. It’s the only way to find people up to my standards, but I feel that it’s cowardly. Also, what are the odds I’d find someone in my area, and my age? I’ll only go for someone 6 months in either direction of my age. What should I do?

Ok, so I met this girl online a few weeks ago (i know that sounds sketchy, but its a clean site) and we’ve been talking like every other day on the phone (calls, texts). I meet her for the 1st time last Thursday and I really liked her, and I’m assuming she liked me. We’re both Christians, but I’ve had more relationship experience then her (shes never kissed a guy). I want to get to know her more and try to build a relationship, but I’m afraid that since she’s probably been waiting for the “right” guy, she might not give me a fighting chance if i’m not “the guy.” I want to do this the right way so I’m not even interested in any type of physical stuff. My problem is that she’s very shy and I can’t tell if she is really interested in me or if she just very hesitant to the whole dating thing. We’re going out again this Sat for lunch, but it’s just tough to get a feel for this girl. I know this is long, but any advice would be appreciated.

Now I know not every Christian singles others of their group out as true and untrue christians, but I have heard many people say, “oh they aren’t true christians” just because they do things a bit differently or you know they sin once and a while or they don’t act humble or something. But to those people who do say these things to others, what gives you the right to say who is truly christian and who isn’t? Are you God?

I have had the modivation lately to become a more mature christian. I live with my fiance and we are suppose to get married soon but we dont know how soon. Just when it works out has mostly been the attitude. Well, i think we can make it work out in the next 6 months if we go to church more and find a good preacher to marry us and mature us in faith as a couple. Me and my fiance have already had sex though, and i told him i dont want to anymore until we get married. I think it made him sad and a little depressed that i began going through a spiritual battle and he cried last night saying i distanced myself. My fiance never cries but he did and i knew i was breaking his heart but i do feel like god wants us to become closer with our faith before we jump to getting married. He agreed to go to church and hes slowly getting over my spiritual change but i still feel REALLY guilty for breaking his heart over it. It was a sudden change and i totally understand why he felt the way he did. Am i doing everything ok here??

I have reasons why I don’t go out much so please don’t reply by telling me I should go out more. I’m trying to find someone special using the Internet and I’ve never had any luck with dating sites. I don’t even like dating sites to be honest as most people seem the same, or often fake. I wondered about trying a Christian dating site because although I’m not a Christian, I do hold some of the same values and someone like that might fit me well. I did try one earlier today though and they insisted I believe in God and related things before letting me join, so I didn’t bother.
I’ve tried Facebook and have got to know a few people but nobody to be with who’s local. I just don’t want to be one of hundreds of guys that a woman MSN’s with or sends Facebook application notices too anyway.
It’s not impossible that I could go out a bit but where? Where I live it’s mostly old people, with a few clubs and pubs. I don’t want to meet someone in a pub or club though as, unlike most people, I don’t think drinking is the answer to life. I want to find someone who enjoys nature, sunsets, walking along the beach, cuddling on the sofa, etc..
I’m not even sure what I’m asking but I guess it’s if anyone knows a website that isn’t like normal dating sites where I could meet the sort of person I’m looking for. Please TRY not to reply with insults and criticisms. Thank you.
